Angus Brandt was signed by the Kings prior to the 2014/2015 National Basketball League season.
The Sydney-born 24 year old, who stands 208cm (6’10”) and weighs 112kg (248lb), is coming off a terrific college career in the United States for Oregon State University in the powerful Pacific 12 conference, where he averaged 7.3 points and 3.0 rebounds over 125 appearances.
After suffering a torn right ACL after four games in his senior season, he was granted a fifth season of eligibility by the NCAA and went on to post numbers of 12.6 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 52% from the field in the 2013/14 campaign.
He started every game in his final season for the University and was a three-time team captain while being named to the Pac-12 All Academic Team in 2011 and 2014.
Brandt was a member of the Australian Boomers team that contested the four game Sino-Australia series against China in 2014 and he performed solidly, with a high of 12 points in Game Three.
It was a performance that led to his addition to the extended Australian Boomers squad for the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
Angus boasts shooting range that extends out to the three point line, has an improving low post game and works hard at both ends of the floor.
